What happens during an Amatsu balance session?

Answer

- I start my assessment by taking a medical history, making sure that I know what medications you are taking and by understanding how your lifestyle ( e.g occupation, exercise ) impacts your symptoms. - I will then assess the way you stand and move, before going through a set of orthopaedic tests and muscle tests (assessing the quality of individual muscle responses). Gaining an overall understanding of your body allows me to then decide the most appropriate treatment techniques for you. - Treatment will involve gentle soft tissue releases, mobilisations and massage. Every human body compensates for stress, strain and injury differently, therefore all Amatsu balances are unique to the individual.

What to wear for a balance?

Answer

As Amatsu is performed with the client fully clothed, soft comfortable clothing is advisable so that your limbs can easily be checked for a range of movement. You will be asked to remove your shoes, belt and watch.

Who can benefit from an Amatsu balance?

Answer

The gentle approach makes it suitable for all ages n.b. there are some conditions and symptoms which are not suitable for an Amatsu balance session. Please contact me for more details.

What conditions can be helped by Amatsu?

Answer

Treatment can help many musculo-skeletal, lifestyle and work-related conditions to aid the restoration of natural health and well-being. E.g. General aches and pains, injury from accidents, broken bones etc, sports injuries (old and new), repetitive strain injuries, digestive issues and migraines.

How many Amatsu balance sessions will I need?

Answer

This may vary depending on your condition and the severity, age and fitness, and how your body responds to the balance. It is not unusual to feel the difference straight away, but usually people start to feel changes after 3-5 sessions. In long term chronic conditions however, it may be longer than this.

Maintenance

Answer

Once the initial problem is resolved, many people return for regular maintenance. Everyday living places stresses on the body. A regular Amatsu treatment maintains good alignment and postural balance, helping you reach and retain your maximum level of function and performance.

How will I feel after an Amatsu balance?

Answer

Everyone is different and you are advised to listen to your body and follow the post session advice. You may feel full of energy, or you may feel a little tired.

What should I do after an Amatsu balance?

Answer

Water – make sure you drink plenty of water. Walk – walking helps your treatment ‘settle’ into your body as well helping you stay healthy Warmth – keep any aches and pains warm Listen and act on what your practitioner has advised Be kind to yourself – rest Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
